Seasons

Here's Dr. Now's say on timeshare exchange seasons.

When you purchase a timeshare or vacation club membership you always purchase what you can afford, what fits in your budget.

So the lowest priced package is a studio, low season, biannual -every other year- and the most expensive package will always be a two bedroom or bigger, annually, high time, or multiples there of.

Now in RCI the colors for Hi, Mid and Low times of the year are Red White and Blue, and in II the colors are Red Green and Yellow.

In Know Your Rules you'll find more information on how to exchange.

Points vs Weeks

The newest form of vacation ownership is a point system ownership which has been modeled from the air miles cards.

Basically what i does is it gives you way more flexibility i.e. * Break up the weeks into days

* use your points for nightly stays at hotels

* use your points for cruises

* use your points for airfare

Literally use your points for anything a travel agency can do!

It has eliminated the loss of weeks, you see, normally once you have deposited your week into RCI you have two more years to use that week and then if not used, you would loose that week.

Now with points that will not happen because you can use your points for other things like, airline tickets , weekends at Vegas or Atlantic City, car rental, cruises, etc...

How to Exchange

The subject of exchange is THE most negative and misunderstood part of timeshare.

The unfortunate thing is that timeshare sales reps have the tendency of exaggerating how RCI or II works.

The truth is, from experience by Dr. Now, that if you learn how to use the exchange companies to the best results, you will never be disappointed with your purchase.

The basic principal of exchange is, You would get in exchange the equivalent of what you have purchased.

For example if you purchase a blue week studio affiliated to RCI you can only trade it for a studio low season week in RCI.

And the same principal and rules of exchange apply to II.

So if you own a two bedroom gold crown resort, you will only get gold crown two bedroom.
